Picture the scene. You’re out for your morning jog, taking in the usual setting – trees… grass… fallen leaves…. giant hedgehog. No, you’re not hallucinating. Anyone on Clapham Common yesterday may have spotted the seven-foot prickly beast, (which took over two months to make and is covered in around 2,000 wooden spikes) hanging out to promote David Attenborough’s new TV series ‘Natural Curiosities’.

Each episode of the series will look at animals and their similar evolutionary quirks, so the humble hedgehog will be seen alongside a rhino. Other animals making an appearance in the series include the giant squid, owls and cuckoos. Whether models of any of them will pop up in a park near you remains to be seen…

The hedgehog will make an appearance in new show ‘Natural Curiosities’, starting February 18 at 8pm on Watch.
