Burgers and beer, Jamaican patties and a stay at The Grand Budapest Hotel: it’s LondonOnTheInside’s March favourites
January’s detox made way for a February feast, and now March looks to be even more calorific still. Our all-consuming friends over at LondonOnTheInside have the inside scoop on the best of the capital’s pig-out spots, with a trip to a pink hotel thrown in for good measure. Here are their March favourites for your perusal.
The Brewburger, Honest Burgers and Brewdog, March 3
‘Who doesn’t like burgers and beer? It’s a killer combo, so we’re pretty excited that Honest Burgers and Brewdog have combined to create The Brewburger. That’s a burger made with beer, and it contains so much booze you need ID to order it.’
The Great Chicken Wing Hunt, Redchurch Street, March 4
‘Film and food are two of our favourite things so why wouldn’t we want to go see ‘The Great Chicken Wing Hunt’ whilst eating chicken wings coated in sauces made by some of the best chefs in London? Oh and the money goes to charity. #NOBRAINER’
The Fauns, Birthdays, Dalston March 18
‘Fresh from a mammoth tour of Europe, this is the first gig back on UK soil for Bristol shoegazers The Fauns. Having been our band of the month for February we’re excited to see these guys in action for the first time. They make huge epic soundscapes… it’s music in WIDESCREEN’.
Jamaica Patty Co, Covent Garden, mid-March
‘We reckon Caribbean food is gonna be the next big thing, with two Jamaican restaurants opening this month. Seriously, who doesn’t love a patty? This laid-back joint is serving them filled with everything from jerk chicken to saltfish and ackee. It’s the nearest we’ll get to a long haul holiday for a while.’
‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’, Secret Cinema, until Mach 30
You can’t beat a bit of immersive cinema (everyone secretly wants to act in a movie!) and this month you have chance to become one of the guests at ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ as Secret Cinema showcase Wes Anderson’s latest film. Don’t worry, we’ll play Edward Norton…’
