Ok, people, let’s talk strategy. It’s no good rocking up to Burger Fest having already tucked into a full English and a big fat lunch earlier that day. You need to be fully prepared for the five half-burgers and one ‘burger pud’ that’ll be coming your way. Hydrate. Nibble on some crudités. Perhaps an alfalfa sprout. Then make way for creations by Mother Flipper, Honest Burger, Street Kitchen, Burger Craft and the Wild Game Co. Dessert is a burger too.
Well, sort of. It’s a bacon and maple syrup ‘burger cupcake’ (all the rage in the US), complete with ‘vanilla fries’, from the team at Cupcakes and Shhht. Arrive before 5.30pm and you’ll even get a free bottle of Brewdog beer. All in a groovy warehouse space, done up casual-stylie with comfy sofas, board games and a bar, plus DJ sets from the Young & Lost Club and Stamp the Wax. And there’s 50 percent off taxis home. Because after all those burgers, walking won’t be possible. Tania Ballantine
