As part of their fundraising efforts for this year’s International Women’s Day, Femme Fierce held an all-female takeover of Leake Street’s famous graffiti tunnel, in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest spray paint mural by multiple artists. With over 100 of the very best female street artists from across the globe jetting in to be a part of the project, the artists first painted the wall bubblegum pink on behalf of Breast Cancer Care and then began their world record attempt at 11am.

Working for five straight hours, the street artists (who were all decked out in pink to further emphasise their support for the Breast Cancer Care charity) created a series of illustrations focussing on the theme of ‘it’s a woman’s world’. Their efforts have raised £1,500 so far with the total continuing to rise and all of their work was done with the use of recycled, recoloured pink paint supplied by Paint 360 and spray paint supplied by VIP sports paint shop.

On hand to keep the assembled audience entertained, beatboxers and breakdancers from Spain and Italy performed while the artists continued to work. Femme Fierce are confident they’ve broken the Guinness World Record, however, those involved will have to wait six weeks before they receive official confirmation.

Check out an array of images from the event below.
