Lower Marsh Saturday Market is now running weekly from 10am-3pm. This new food market has a score of well-known and new producers present, selling meats, fresh seafood, salads, British charcuterie, cheeses, cakes, and fruit leathers (chewy dried fruit snacks). We’re particularly pleased to see the social enterprise HMP Brixton’s Bad Boys’ Bakery are there selling breads, cakes and desserts, though we can’t help feeling they’ve missed the point somehow. Aren’t they supposed to smuggle the keys and metal files hidden inside loaves into the prison, not smuggle them out? Guy Dimond
