It’s been 15 years since the London Eye first started spinning and it’s now impossible to imagine the city’s skyline without its super-sized ferris wheel. To mark its anniversary on May 1, the clever folks over at A Curious Invitation and Antique Beat have come together to host a series of lectures on 32 famous Londoners, each one delivered in a different London Eye pod.

An array of the capital’s greats are being covered and guests can choose from talks on Queen Victoria, Charlie Chaplin or Samuel Pepys to David Bowie, Naomi Campbell and Zadie Smith. But it’s not just the subjects who are of interest. With speakers including former Mayor Ken Livingstone, cartoonist Martin Rowson, Londonist editor Matt Brown, Southbank Centre’s Jude Kelly and former Poet Laureate Sir Andrew Motion, these aren’t your run-of-the-mill lectures. This is pretty much a must for any Londonophile – you’ll even be handed a complimentary cocktail on arrival.

Tickets are selling fast so book your pod now at, visit 32londoners.com.
