Back in February we filled you in on an ambitious project to transform east London’s waterways into a sculpture trail dubbed ‘The Line’. Organisers needed to raise the incredibly specific sum of £146,379 to make their dream a reality and although this seemed an insurmountable hurdle (even up until the last few days!), thanks to the contributions of 288 people and businesses through spacehive.com, the sculpture walk is now set to go ahead.
Co-founder of the campaign Megan Piper expressed her relief that the roller coaster ride to securing funding was finally at an end and thanked all of those who contributed to the ambitious campaign. Subject to further funding, the free riverside art hub should open this summer allowing people to cycle, jog or walk past the various stone models.
