First Thursdays

Don’t have any plans for tonight? Fancy a change of scene? Why not take in some art after galleries have closed their doors at First Thursdays? On the first Thursday of every month the East End comes alive with private views and special events including talks, workshops and tours for both art connoisseurs and novices.

With over 40 galleries throwing open their doors, there’s something for everyone. Check out our recommended top five art shows here.

But if you’re in the mood for even more art, why not take in these shows?

Phil Maxwell’s striking photographs of Brick Lane at Rich Mix on Bethnal Green Rd

Morgan Quaintance’s curated show at Cell Project Space is a virtual Internet experience

Get immersed in the Russian avant-garde at Calvert 22

You can even get in on the art-making action at The Prince’s Drawing School drop-in life drawing class.
Arrive with your drawing implement of choice between 6.30pm-9pm at their Shoreditch studio and you can create your own masterpiece.

So if you love art or just want to learn more (or just fancy a free beer), get on down to First Thursdays.
