Here’s something to warm your cockles. Made in Hackney is an eco-community kitchen that offers classes in food growing and cookery skills to groups in need: low-income families, young carers, people in care and people with long-term health problems. Not long ago, it launched a crowd-funding appeal to help it raise £12,500 to continue its work – and it exceeded the target. But only just.
