Get outside, now! Outdoor cinema’s back in the capital

Rooftop cinema, Peckham
The sun is shining (at least it was ten minutes ago – oh hello, there it is again), and just in time for the open-air cinema season. Whether you want to weep along to ‘West Side Story’ or get the bejesus scared out of you in a cemetery, outdoor screenings are back.

Getting in early, the Rooftop Film Club returns on May 1 in two venues – the top of the Queen of Hoxton pub in Shoreditch and the Bussey Building in Peckham Rye. These guys have perfected the art of outdoor cinema, with comfy directors’ chairs, wireless headphones and blankets for when it gets a bit nippy. If you’re after a gorgeous London location, tickets for The Luna Cinema go on sale on Friday: they will screen movies at Kew Gardens, Hampton Court Palace, Brockwell Lido, Regent’s Park and more. We’re just waiting for some bright spark to tempt fate (and weather of biblical proportions) by showing ‘Noah’.

See the full line-ups and book tickets at www.rooftopfilmclub.com and www.thelunacinema.com.
