Identified Flying Object

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it that glowing cage artwork in King’s Cross? Correcto! French artist and architect Jacques Rival’s IFO – Identified Flying Object – landed behind the station in 2011. After a brief sojourn, the nine metre-high rainbow birdcage is back lighting up people’s commutes at Battle Bridge Place, between King’s Cross and St Pancras stations. So next time you’re in the area, follow the bright lights for a little swing inside the sculpture or look to the skies as they promise that it will be hoiked up into the air on ‘special occasions’.
