There’s no shortage of bars and pubs in Camden, but The Lock Tavern is pretty much our favourite. It’s on the classy side of ‘dive bar’, there’s a garden and a roof terrace, and its reputation for booking cutting-edge live music has been hard-earned in an area that more often plays host to provincial indie boys in fedoras.
Anyway, this Sunday the Lock Tavern will have been open for 12 years: no mean feat considering the mayfly-like lifespans of many London venues. To celebrate that – and the fact that WOO! IT’S A FOUR-DAY WEEKEND – the pub’s hosting a Bank Holiday festival. Upstairs they’ve got some really cool bands (we highly recommend Pins and Big Deal on Thursday, Great Ytene on Saturday and Benin City on Sunday), and a special art exhibition. Downstairs they’ve got street food, good beer and a (hopefully) sunny garden to drink/eat it in.
Sounds good, right? Entry is completely free all weekend, so you could just turn up, but if you book in advance you get free pizza. You know what to do…
Check out the full line-up and book free tickets (and pizza).
