‘Ready or not, here I come!’ Wait – what do you mean, we’re not playing that game? While also a play on words, ‘Hide and Seed’ is a nod to the animal (hide) and vegetable (seed) ingredients being cooked at this new west London restaurant. Nothing unusual about that. What IS unusual is that some quite adventurous items (pig’s head and ears; young goat) are being used, and given ‘haute’ treatment. And this is happening in Putney, of all places, in a small (but not boutique) hotel on the Upper Richmond Road. But is it any good? Tania Ballantine
