Pint of Science

Fancy some lively learning over a bevvy in your local? Well these Pint of Science talks might just be the ticket, and they’ll arm you with loads of factoids to impress your mates the next time you take part in a pub quiz. The aim is to provide cutting-edge science talks and a place for discussion with those carrying out the research, and what better place to do so than in a boozer? The non-profit organisation was established by a community of postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers in 2012 and is now run by groups of volunteers across the globe.

This year’s London talks cover four topics: Matters of the Mind, Understanding our Bodies, Chemistry and Physics, and Planet Earth. Tickets are a total steal at just £2.20 so you can even afford an extra pint or two. Hopefully, the only brain pain you’ll have is from all the new knowledge you’ve accumulated, not from having one too many. Stephanie Hartman
