Pop down to a meta pop-up this weekend. That’s right, we said it, meta. Fairground – a selection of mini pop-ups within one big, ten-week pop-up – has announced the tasty activities lined up for their fifth week at the abandoned Haggerston office space.

If you explore all three floors (plus courtyard), you can get your nails jazzed up, learn how to take the Twittersphere by storm, taste the delights of Indian tapas or have old favourites from your wardrobe made shiny new (ish) with a slick alteration. Here’s the lowdown on each level:

Sat May 10

Level 1 – Fairground Live

WAH! Nails take-over, offering freebie nail art from 5pm and DJ sets from some of the fabbest female artists around at the moment. Including ’90s loving spin-ster Siobhan Bell, the ladies behind The Mushpit fanzine (a girls mag for grown-ups), Devlin’s bestie Yasmin, the Work It girls and more.

Level 2 – Grandaad Lounge

Pro Tweetsman David Levin (him of @The_Dolphin_Pub fame and @BBCTheVoiceUK) will be sharing his wisdom on ‘How to Become a Professional Tweeter’ from 4-5pm; Nick Carvell, fashion editor at GQ explains how to get ahead in fashion via blogs and social media from 5-6pm; and finally the evening comes to a climax (7-8.30pm) with ‘The Hitmakers Sessions’, during which PMR Records’ Lincoln Elias and Ben Parmer talk about signing some of the biggest acts in dance at the moment (think Disclosure, Julio Bashmore and Jessie Ware).

Sun May 11

Level 1 – Fairground Live

Pete Robinson’s outfit take to the live room as Lazy Talk tonight. The five-piece blend ska-punk, rap and rock that hints at Jamie T and the Specials.

Level 2 – Grandaad Lounge

Grab your golden oldie clothing that you can’t bring yourself to throw away and give it a new lease of life at Clothes Rehab today. The alteration clinic will be making on-the-spot adjustments for bargainous prices.

All weekend

Level 3 (the Fairground Diner) and the courtyard will be hosted, respectively, by brilliant barbecue brains Smokestak and Yum Jungle with their Thai-style fried chicken. Plus, you can fill up on Jamaican dumplings courtesy of Windell’s on Level 1 and Baba G’s Indian tapas on Level 2. Danielle Goldstein

£7, free before 7pm; find out more about Fairground.
