Where to find the best Sunday roasts in town

It’s Sunday. Probably time to start thinking about where to go for your roast! Here’s a few ideas…

CENTRAL Hawksmoor Seven Dials 
For £19.50, this steakhouse (and its branches) does roast of Longhorn beef cooked medium-rare with all the trimmings. 11 Langley St, WC2H 9JG.Covent Garden. 

NORTH Bull & Last
On the edge of Hampstead Heath, the Bull & Last combines a very pleasant dining rooms and proper portions (beef rib £20, pork belly £17). 168 Highgate Rd, NW5 1QS.Kentish Town.

EAST The Gun
Double whammy: excellent views of the river, plus roast Cumbrian beef with horseradish crème fraîche or Middle White pork with apple purée (both £17.50). 27 Coldharbour, E14 9NST.Canary Wharf.

SOUTH The Bobbin
This cosy Clapham gastropub is renowned locally for a decent Sunday lunch that isn’t fancy or overpriced, just good tucker. Expect lamb (£15), beef (£16.50), or half a chicken (£14). 1-3 Lillieshall Rd, SW4 0LN. Clapham Common.

WEST Hereford Road
Head to this five-star British restaurant on Sundays for its terrific roast beef ribs with Yorkshire puds, or pork belly with apple sauce. Prices £11-£16.50. 3 Hereford Rd, W2 4AB. Bayswater.
