Fancy going for as drink in a butcher’s shop, but don’t want to get slaughtered? Then you’d better order something off the meaty menu at Hill & Srzok on Hackney’s Broadway Market. It’s a butcher’s by day, then converts into a cosy little no-bookings restaurant in the evenings. It’s well worth a butcher’s hook, despite the slightly creepy Damien Hirst-like carcasses hanging on display in the refrigerated window. Guy Dimond
