Rumbunctious cocktails: three of London’s best rum cocktails

st lucian's punch

Forget gin: London is all about rum-flavoured mixes this summer. Grab a colourful straw and suck these up.

Floridita Rum Shack’s St Lucian’s Punch
This fiery and fruity take on a classic rum punch mixes Chairman’s Reserve and Chairman’s Spiced with strawberries, strawberry liqueur, pineapple juice and citrus. 100 Wardour St, W1F 0TN. Leicester Square.

Super Panda

Artesian’s Super Panda
Head bartender Alex Kratena’s Super Panda combines Botran rum, mango juice, citrus and almond over a slightly surreal panda head lantern which releases a tangerine aroma as you drink. 1c Portland Place, W1B 1JA. Oxford Circus.

RUBIN CARTER

Rum Kitchen’s Rubin Carter
Rubin ‘Hurricane’ Carter was a boxer wrongly imprisoned for murder: we can’t help feeling a cocktail named after him should have a touch more gravitas than a blend of rums and tropical fruit, but we’ll still happily raise a glass of the stuff to his memory. First floor, Kingly Court, W1B 5PW. Oxford Circus.
