Bunch of suckers: lorry carrying giant octopus ‘breaks down’ in Oxford Circus

Posted at 10:45 am, June 3, 2014 in Fun London

You’ve probably already heard the news, but this morning a lorry transporting a giant octopus (a fake one, thankfully) broke down in the middle of Oxford Circus bringing traffic (and Twitter) to a screeching halt. But what’s the dealio?

We’re guessing it’s a memorial to Paul the legendary psychic octopus who predicted match results during the 2010 World Cup, as the octopus was rumoured to have been on its way to Betfair headquarters.

Unfortunate accident? A week before the start of the World Cup? Uh-huh. Sure it was, Betfair. Sure.
