Welcome to London, Lorde: here’s three places you should visit

Lorde

Kiwi superstar Lorde comes to London this week – here’s our bespoke tourist advice for the visiting pop star.

Take in Buckingham Palace.

Lorde’s magnificent breakthrough hit ‘Royals’ brilliantly skewered hip hop excess by evoking the aristocracy. A trip to the crib of our own OG monarch Queen Liz (AKA Quizzy) is, therefore, a must

Stock up on gothy black garms.

Like Henry Ford, the 17-year-old singer subscribes to an all-black aesthetic. Proceed to Camden Town, where dark lippie and moody stares are de rigueur.

Visit the Feminist Library.

The jury’s out on whether Lorde’s Twitter beefs with female stars constitute constructive feminism or just sisterhood-fracturing snark. A visit to this volunteer-run archive in Lambeth would be an eye-opener either way.

Lorde plays Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Thu Jun 5 and Brixton Academy on Fri Jun 6.
