Write home about the Typing Room at the Town Hall Hotel

Typing room

‘Ooh, why’s it called Typing Room?’, you may well ask. Trust us, the least interesting thing about this restaurant is its name. (But as you’re now dying to know, it’s in a converted town hall building, and this is the room where the official correspondence was once written.) What’s a lot more interesting than the name is that it combines a ‘lucky’ site (it’s where celebrated chef Nuno Mendes first cemented his reputation), top-flight backer (Jason Atherton, current darling of the dining scene), and a top-flight chef (who has notched up time at some of the best restaurants in the world). But is it any good?
