‘Ooh, why’s it called Typing Room?’, you may well ask. Trust us, the least interesting thing about this restaurant is its name. (But as you’re now dying to know, it’s in a converted town hall building, and this is the room where the official correspondence was once written.) What’s a lot more interesting than the name is that it combines a ‘lucky’ site (it’s where celebrated chef Nuno Mendes first cemented his reputation), top-flight backer (Jason Atherton, current darling of the dining scene), and a top-flight chef (who has notched up time at some of the best restaurants in the world). But is it any good?
