Do those new-fangled, super-modern hybrid buses not quite do it for you? Then listen up – as part of the ‘Year of the Bus’ celebrations, the National Trust London and Arriva Heritage Fleet have organised a series of road trips around London on a vintage 1962 Green Line Routemaster bus. Each tour discovers a new part of London and is lead by a different cultural commentator who will discuss the culture and characters of the city. Next up is Tanya Gold on June 14, Peter York on July 5, and Dan Cruickshank on July 12. Tours will last around two-three hours and that includes a few toilet breaks and food stock-ups along the way.
