We don’t mean to bang on (geddit?!), but there really is an inverse ratio between how high a bar is, and how good it is. Just think of the drinks from an airline trolley, right? Or the sort of bevvies you might be trying to keep down on a fairground ride? And there’s a good reason why there’s no All Bar One at the base camp of Everest (well not yet, anyway). We rest our case – the higher you go, the more suspect and overpriced a bar is likely to be. However, sometimes a bar isn’t really about good value, or service, or good drinks – location is everything. And a good view is sometimes worth paying for.
