Massive mechanical elephant to parade down Blackfriars Road

Mechanical Elephant

If you happen to be walking down Blackfriars Road tomorrow afternoon (July 2) you may want to look up from your phone and watch out for the giant multi-coloured elephant (on wheels).

I know what you’re thinking, ‘can I jump up and have a ride?’ That’s probably not advisable, but there’s plenty to keep you entertained. Before the elephant struts its stuff, there will be a Carnival Parade and garden parties in Peabody Square, Styles House and Christ Church gardens and street entertainers, live music, gardening, and free arts and crafts workshops. If you want to witness the parade, follow the herd from Friars School Carnival at 1.30pm and end up at Christ Church at 6.30pm.

Don’t worry if you can’t make tomorrow’s festivities as organisers Emergency Exit Arts are planning a whole series of events like this across the summer.
