We don’t know if you’ve already heard but there are animals hiding on the tube. No, we’re not talking racoons on the Northern line or goats clogging up ticket halls; a keen-eyed map enthusiast has noticed that there are a few sneaky animals lurking within the lines of Harry Beck’s tube map. Okay, so Paul Middlewick may have spotted them back in 1988 but the internet was only made aware of them recently. And now that they’ve been spotted by the masses, these tube animals are venturing out into the real world in the form of notebooks, postcards and the like. From August 7, you can pick up your trusty new companion from the Animals on the Underground shop. We know, we know. They’re a bit kitsch but who are we kidding? We can’t wait to get our hands on some. Bagsy the turtle.
