The sun’s still shining, school’s still out – all that’s needed to complete the ‘summer in the city’ vibe is a riot… no, we mean, some delicious and cooling ice cream! But not just a simple vanilla cone, we’re talking a veritable explosion of flavour and taste sensations.

For this, you need to head to King’s Cross tomorrow (August 16), where street food outfit KERB is promising an ice cream extravaganza. A dozen or so traders will be serving such delights as alcoholic ice cream (from the Drunken Dairy), chilli-spiked ice cream (Indie Ices), DIY doughnut sundaes (You Doughnut), organic fro-yo with toppings of caramelised bacon and candy floss (Daisy Green), ice cream sandwiches (Kooky Bakes) and all sorts of other icy niceness. Plus: stalls selling burgers, pizza and other street food, as well as cocktails, beers, fountains and deck chairs. Throw in a canalside setting and it’s practically like being at the seaside.

Saturday August 16, 11am-6pm, KERB, Granary Square, King’s Cross, N1C 4AA. Details on kerbfood.com.
