Seven Dials stops traffic for a free one-day festival

We’ve all battled our way through the throng in Covent Garden and thought, ‘If only there was more space and fewer elbows’. Well, we can’t promise you fewer knocks, but we can promise more space as this Saturday the area’s Seven Dials roundabout will traffic free from noon-7pm for its first ever Spotlight Festival

That’s right, us bipods are getting free roam – emphasis on free – of the central London space to bask in a bevy of bargainous entertainment. A stage will be set up next to the monument in the middle where, every hour on the hour, a different performance will take place. Acts already announced are Pineapple Dance Studios, the Tristan Bates Theatre, comedian Ian Stone and London Brass All-Stars. If you explore the surrounding area you’ll find ‘Sol Cinema’ the world’s smallest solar-powered mobile movie theatre, street art by London Graphic and special offers at participating stores. Plus, each festival-goer will get a goodie bag. Not bad for zero pennies.
