Street food lovers, rejoice! Especially if you’re also a fan of hot and spicy edibles. Urban Food Fest is launching a new season of weekly street food extravaganzas with its ‘Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ night market on Saturday August 16.
Around 15 food trucks and stalls will be pulling up at a car park in east London. Expect to tingle your taste buds with an array of dishes from across the globe, including spicy pork kimchi burgers (Korea), bratwurst chilli dogs (Austria), spicy jian bings and sticky Sriracha chicken wings (China), French chilli cheese duck confit brioche burgers (France), ‘pepper pot’ jerk chicken (Jamaica) and pulled pork burgers with chilli sauerkraut (Germany). Even the puds follow the spice-is-nice theme, with the likes of chilli and chocolate crème brûlée.
To drink, there’s craft beer, wine (including prosecco and champagne), cider, soft drinks and some specially created chilli cocktails. If you’re really keen (and/or poor), punters wearing the best chilli-themed costumes win free cocktails.
And if you can’t make this event, don’t worry – Urban Food Fest is holding a market every Saturday night (except September 13) up to October 11. If Seoul food is your soul food, then make a date in your diary for the Korean themed night market on September 20, or, if bratwurst and bier is more your thing, there’s Oktoberfest on September 28. Happy munching!
August 16, 5pm-midnight, Euro Car Parks, 162-175 Shoreditch High Street, E1 6HU.
