Toilets in training: get pissed at WC in Clapham

Posted at 3:30 pm, August 19, 2014 in Food & Drink
WC

Public toilets. They have many uses, of course, most of them not very savoury. Until, that is, a few years ago when some bright-minded persons started taking over derelict or abandoned public lavs and repurposing them. First came Attendant, a cute coffee shop fashioned from a former gents’ toilet in Fitzrovia; now there’s WC, a wine and charcuterie bar in Clapham.

The latest element in the Clapham Old Town Regeneration Project, it still looks and feels like a Victorian convenience, but now offers a score of decent wines alongside cheese and charcuterie plates. There’s even a tiny outdoor terrace. We say: just the place to spend some pennies.

Read our review of WC here. And take a look at four other London restaurants set in old toilets.
