Summer might be drawing to a close (sob) but you can still make the most of its final days at these pop-ups
No, not queue! Q as in Camden’s delicious Q Grill, which has taken up summer-long residence on the roof of Selfridges. A private elevator whizzes you up to the restaurant, which has been kitted out to feel like a secret garden. Catch some rays in opulent, postretail therapy splendour – far from any snaking lines of hot, irate shoppers. Selfridges, 400 Oxford St, W1A 1AB. Until Sep 27.
2. Camden Beach at the Roundhouse
The phrase ‘London beach’ probably brings to mind rusty beer cans or creepy abandoned dolls poking out of the mud. Not so in Camden where they have tiki huts, cocktails and tons of sand. Get to the Roundhouse pronto – Little Copacabana clears away the deckchairs this weekend. Roundhouse, Chalk Farm Rd, NW1 8EH. Until Sat Aug 23.
3. Street Feast in Dalston Yard
As the weather gets wetter, the opportunities to scoff burgers on the street get fewer. Street Feast – with its rotating line-up of ace stalls including Luardo’s burritos, Dosa Deli and Honest Burger – is only open until the end of September, so get your alfresco dining kicks before it all goes alfreezo. Dalston Yard, Hartwell St, E8 3DU. Until Sep 27.
4. Breddo’s Tacos at Tripspace
Street-food favourite Breddo’s has taken up summer residence in Haggerston’s TripSpace (a new theatre, dance studio and bar-restaurant near the canal). The Mexican- American crew are dishing up huevos rancheros and fried chicken aplenty. Brunch heaven. TripSpaceArch 339-40, Acton Mews , E8 4EA. Until summer’s end.
5. Busan BBQ summer at Old Bengal Bar
Some pop-ups let the food speak for itself. At Busan BBQ’s temporary treat, near Bishopsgate, the food is speaking real loud and real proud. The ‘AmeriKorean’ BBQ joint is kicking out fingerlicking bulgogi burgers and sticky chicken throughout August. Old Bengal Bar, 16 New St, EC2M 4TR. Until Tue Aug 26.
