Converse is out to convince everyone that shoes are boring and sneakers (by which they presumably mean ‘trainers’) are awesome. How are they supposed to do that? By hooking you with a ton of free stuff, that’s how.
Install ‘The Ticket’ plug-in to your web browser and like some kind of benevolent internet god, Converse will shower you with fun stuff like gifs, videos and links to offbeat online content. More to the point though, when you sign up you’ll get the chance to access spontaneous and exclusive events and gigs across London.
Last week we hopped aboard the Converse party bus and were ferried to a Shoreditch street dance jam, an intimate set by Oxford indie kids Glass Animals (in a frickin’ graveyard) and a boozy Horrors after-party at the Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green.
Shoes are for work and people who follow the rules, say Converse. Sneakers do fun stuff… but only if you downloaded their plug-in. That’s the other thing about sneakers, of course. They’re sneaky.
