The nation laughed, cried and salivated as Ping Coombes stole our hearts and stormed her way to ‘MasterChef’ victory earlier this year. What’s next, Ping for Prime Minister? (Better than some of the other contenders, that’s for sure.) Okay, not quite, but Ping has teamed up with this year’s ‘MasterChef’ runners-up Luke Owen and Jack Lucas to host the first week of the MasterChef Restaurant & Bar pop-up from September 2. The kitchen will be taken over by a different team of ‘MasterChef’ cooks from the telly for five weeks until early October.
Week two sees 2011 winner Tim Anderson take the helm, and week three features three former winners – Natalie Coleman, Mat Follas and James Nathan– working back behind the ‘MasterChef’ hobs. The catch? It’s already sold out, so no need to practise your best Gregg Wallace chuckle or John Torode stern stare; though this won’t stop the event garnering plenty more blog inches.
