Rupert Street in Soho has long been one of those Brigadoon street food markets – hardly ever there when you want it to appear (only on Friday lunchtimes, to be precise). It’s still Fridays only for the full dozen stalls, but organisers Street Food Union have just spruced up the stalls. And the market really does show a lot of team spirit. Instead of a long row of individual traders, they now take one side each of square canopied pitches, making it look much tidier. Expect the likes of @Peckhampastrami (toasted reuben sarnies), @KofteClub (lamb kofte wraps), @DixieUnion (pulled pork burgers), @Pyrlandia (Polish sausages) and a whole lot more besides. Best of all, between every ‘tent’ is a set of sunshine-yellow wooden tables, where you can pull up a bench to eat your lunch. How civilised.
