The UK’s most expensive home is in London (and it’s not even been built yet)

A Mayfair penthouse has become the most expensive home sold in the UK – and it’s not even been built yet. The Clarges Estate pad is costing one buyer a ‘substantial margin’ more than the previous record of £5,000 per square foot (which was also set in Mayfair – no surprise there).

While the total price of the individual flat isn’t being revealed for ‘buyer confidentiality’ reasons, we do know that it was one of 18 apartments sold for a total of £210 million by British Land – making the average price per flat £11.6 million. The homes will be joined by a swimming pool, a spa and a private cinema, but won’t be ready for another three years. Oh, how we love the London housing market.

Still, at least this property news isn’t as depressing as these weird London flat ads.
