Contribute your cycling stories to the Near Miss Project

The Near Miss ProjectIt would be nice if ‘car-doored’ wasn’t a verb at all let alone one that gets used often by cyclists in London. Cycling to work shouldn’t be an extreme sport. If you have started your day swearing at a taxi driver or raising a fist at a bus The Near Miss Project want to hear from you.

The project is a collaboration between Dr. Rachel Aldred, Senior Transport Lecturer at Westminster University and Blaze, the creators of the world’s first front Laserlight. It is the first UK-wide study to look specifically at the potential impact of non-injury related cycling incidents. The results of which will go to planners and policy-makers to offer a better understanding of near miss type incidents from a cycling perspective.

If you would like to contribute to The Near Miss Project, you can sign up to share any cycling near misses you encounter during one day between Monday October 20 and Sunday November 2 visit nearmiss.bike and share you stories with #nearmiss.
