UPDATE: we’ve been in and chatted to the founders and taken lots of photos of the cafe. Click here to find out everything you need to know about the new Cereal Killer Cafe!
The big topic of conversation at Time Out Towers this morning? The number of different types of milk necessary on a menu. Why? Because we heard news that, despite its failed Kickstarter campaign, Cereal Killer Cafe IS definitely opening in Shoreditch – and they’ll be serving 13 different varieties. There are a lot of things we need in London (cheaper housing, all-night tube, more money for the NHS, etc.) and although a cafe that sells only cereal isn’t on that list, we’re still intrigued – okay, perhaps even a tad excited – by the prospect. Identical twin owners Alan and Gary Keery want to get cereal out of the home and into a more public domain to be eaten any time of the day and, as food trends go, this one is pretty tasty.
The Brick Lane café, opening on December 10, will sell over 100 international cereals, 20 toppings, 18 flavours of Pop Tarts as well as toast and coffee from Allpress. They will also be kitting it out in vintage cereal boxes and memorabilia. Will the brothers bowl London over? Only time will tell.
