If you love beer, and love being spoiled for choice, you’ll be happier than a pig in, uh, a blanket, at the Pig’s Ear Beer & Cider Festival taking place in Hackney at the Grade II-listed Round Chapel from Tuesday Dec 2 until Saturday Dec 6. There’s a whole table devoted to dark beers – over 50 of them, including many from London breweries – plus over 230 cask beers, 90 foreign beers (bottled and draught), and 40 ciders and perries. The event is organised by the East London and City Branch of the Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA), and there’s food to soak up the suds, plus a pub memorabilia stall. And best of all, the financial damage is minimal: £3 for card-carrying CAMRA members, £5 for the card-less. Hic.
The Pig’s Ear Beer & Cider Festival takes place at the Round Chapel, 1 Glenarm Rd, E5 0PU.
