Thursday evening = pretty much the weekend. So get ahead of the curve and sort your calendar of fun for the next few days and nights. We’ve picked out three gems below (encompassing dodgeball, disco, gay bingo, baubles, hipster house raving and lots of Christmas), and there are tons more options for all kinds of parties, pop-ups, clubs and other fun over at our Nightlife page.
Young, super-hip duo Bondax’s musical preferences combine mellowed-out house, dreamy electronica and lush garage, and it all sounds pretty bloody lovely, since you ask. The ‘friends’ in the title include TCTS and Star Slinger.
Expect an onslaught of festive fun and general superb silliness at this party organised by masters of madness Regression Sessions. The idea is simply to play dodgeball (that game beloved of US schools where you essentially batter other people with a bouncy ball) accompanied by DJs spinning disco soundtracks, with an added huge dose of Xmas everywhere you look. If dodgeball doesn’t do it for you, you can max out on all the toys, games and other business usually found at RS, including a bouncy castle, bauble pit (given a Christmas makeover) and much more, including various Xmas-themed activities, such as mince pie munch-offs and pin the tail on Rudolf.
The gay bingo gang – Jonny Woo, John Sizzle and Ma Butcher – are back for a Christmas special at Winterville. Get those balls spinning and prepare for the usual hot mess of car-crash fabulosity plus show-stopping new routines, tunes, tongue-twisting and a lot of mentions of the number 69, plus plenty of Christmas vibes floating around.
