Aura-reading Santa, mulled cider and vocal skills at Deep Throat’s Christmas concert

Another storming choral crew of London women, Deep Throat are inviting you to visit the beautiful church off Shacklewell Lane where they practice every week for their Christmas concert on December 16.

The choir, who went down a treat on Saturday afternoon at this year’s Green Man festival, use just voices and drums to perform hypnotic versions of everything from Motown to noughties indie classics. They recently worked with London band Peggy Sue on a special performance for Illuminations festival at the Bussey Building in Peckham.

At their Christmas show, the choir will be showing off their vocal chops on a range of Christmas songs and ‘powerful concept arrangements’, and they’ve also laid on mulled cider, an ‘aura-reading Santa’ and a chance to pick up Deep Throat tea towels (not a phrase you’ll see often). Head down and watch Deep Throat do their festive thing – their name may be a bit naughty, but their sounds are very nice indeed.

Deep Christmas Throat Party is at St Barnabas Church, Shacklewell Row. Dalston Kingsland Overground. Dec 16. £6, £5 adv.
