Time Out gave the Royal Academy’s show of Renaissance painter Giovanni Battista Moroni five stars. We also suggested that a cocktail should be named in his honour. Well, guess what? Peyton & Byrne, which runs the RA’s Keeper’s House bar has embraced our idea and done just that. The Moroni contains white whisky, brandied cherries, muddled grapefruit, syrup, The Bitter Truth Old Time Aromatic Bitters and a cherry: a dark heart beneath an elegant exterior, much like the work of its namesake. Time Out readers can get one for just a fiver until the show closes on January 25. Just take a copy of that week’s mag along or show them this blog.
