Could London be getting a 500m waterslide in 2015?!

Back in the hot, arid days of July, as we cowered in the dust from the withering sun, Time Out issued a simple plea on behalf of all Londoners: someone please create us a giant slip’n’slide, because that would be off the proverbial hook. Were we right or were we right?

We were right. No doubt as a result of our visionary leadership, some people called CITY SLIDE have… well, they’ve started a website. And a series of Facebook pages. They’ve got a proper logo and everything. But the big news is, they’re coming to London in SUMMER 2015. Or so they say.

Do we know who they are? Not really.

Do they have a venue? No.

Do they plan to start selling tickets at Christmas anyway? Why the hell not?

They also claim to be bringing their slide to a dozen other cities around the world next year. That sounded ambitious to us, but the format has a precedent; in the USA a similar company ‘Slide the City‘ tours across the country during the summer months. So… possible?

In short, we don’t want to get your hopes up, but next summer you and your friends could well be cannonballing your way to inner happiness, footloose and friction-free, with nothing but blue skies above and blue PVC beneath.

Or maybe just crashing into other people.

See you on the slopes, son.
