We’re getting a new coin and it’s worth a whopping £100. Better not lose it.

The next time you decide to flash your cash, put away that big wad of notes or shiny platinum card and grab yourself this large silver doozie.

To celebrate the new year, The Royal Mint has manufactured 50,000 coins worth £100. The coin features an image of Big Ben and weighs two ounces in 999 silver. If you do decide to ‘invest’ in one of these you can get it from The Royal Mint website. Then when you realise that you’ve got £100 sitting there when you’re in search of some cash to fund your next fancy meal, take it with you because this coin can be used as legal tender. We’re sure the waiters you hand this over to you will appreciate it just as much as those unfamiliar Scottish notes.
