Expect service on the Northern line to be a little bit pants this Sunday (January 11) as the 2015 instalment of No Trousers On The Tube Day reveals some unusual underwear underground. As long as you own pants and aren’t afraid to show them off, you too can be part of this venerable tradition, known internationally as the No Pants Subway Ride (but renamed in the UK, lest a hapless exhibitionist think the full monty is required.)
The ride is arranged so trou-less travellers board the train at different stops, creating the illusion of a bizarre coincidence for unaware civilians. Participants should meet at the Newport Place pagoda in Chinatown (nearest station: Leicester Square) at 3pm – don’t worry though, you can keep your trousers on for that bit!
Post-journey, an after-party is promised at the London Cocktail Club on Great Portland Street – a bare knees-up, if you will.
