Happy Friday! Here’s every song that sounds like ‘Uptown Funk’

As Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars look set for another week at the top of the charts (both here and in the US), it’s clear that ‘Uptown Funk’ fever shows no signs of vanishing.

Thanks to its bombastic posse-funk and plethora of ’80s boogie references, it’s led listeners to compare it to a host of retro-funk bangers – everything from underground classics by Prince-affiliate Morris Day, to ’80s floor-filler ‘Oops Upside Your Head’ and even the theme from kids nature-fest ‘The Really Wild Show’ (which was actually a disgracefully overlooked synth-funk tune from 1983 by Dutch singer Tony Sherman).

As well as giving Ronson’s album a lukewarm two-stars in our review, we’ve compiled a playlist of some of our favourite Uptown soundalikes to power through into the weekend. Happy listening. You may now kiss yourself.
