Thanks to the success of Grindr, Tinder and Uber, there are now heaps of apps that match two people together using their location. And while those apps are all pretty useful, GoodSAM – the latest to harness the technology – is the only one that could save your life.
The app’s purpose is to help you find the closest medical professional or trained first-aider in an emergency situation. Civilians who’ve downloaded the app just press an emergency button to call for help, while medical professionals (and quite a few of them have signed up in London) receive the alert and attend to the situation if they can.
It’s not meant to replace 999, only keep things going swimmingly until an ambulance arrives. Find out more in the video below.
