Another weekend, another trio of ace nights out. As always, there are plenty of amazing pop-up parties, club nights and other essential nightlife goings-on to be found around town. We’ve picked out three great events below and there are loads gems to be unearthed over at our Clubs page.

Friday Feb 6

I LOVE ACID WAREHOUSE PARTY

Bloc

The glowstick-clutching, UV-facepainted beast of a party returns for some warehouse rave action. Said warehouse is Hackney Wick’s Bloc (formerly named Autumn Street Studios), which will host an immense line-up of DJs: Chicago’s acid house pioneer DJ Pierre, jungle-dabbling wonky electronica hero Luke Vibert, ever-awesome techno ravers Posthuman and I Love Acid residents Affie Yusef and Placid. This party should go off with a bang bigger than the one that started the universe.

THE RHYTHM PARLOUR

Rye Wax Records, CLF Art Cafe

Get your beard trimmed while you soak up some disco bliss at monthly pop-up musical barber shop The Rhythm Parlour, set in Rye Wax Records in Peckham’s Bussey Building. Turn up, put your name on the list for a haircut or beard/tache trim, sift through Rye Wax’s ace selection of records, grab a cocktail, munch some Vietnamese street food and listen to resident DJs spin disco, house and funk while you wait for Ryan MacGregor to trim your fuzz in the barber’s chair. The funkiest follicle-trimming in London.

j dilla changed my life

J DILLA CHANGED MY LIFE

Scala

Who’s iller than J Dilla? Not many, but London hip hop crew The Doctor’s Orders are saluting the hip hop great’s legacy with another of their annual tribute nights. A prime cast of hip hop DJs will be spinning the beats, including Kutmah, Shortee Blitz, Mr Thing, Spin Doctor and DJ LoK, who’ll be playing a special Dilla breaks set.
