Love ‘Game of Thrones’? Love London tourist hotspots? Love ICE? Boy oh boy, have we got a treat in store for you.
Ice sculptors have recreated the legendary Iron Throne from ‘Game of Thrones’ as part of a Covent Garden installation promoting the new series. The life-sized sculpture is ready and waiting for you to go and take a pew (although you may have to queue for a bit first). God, it’s tough being King of the Seven Kingdoms.
Sculptor Mat Foster, director of Glacial Art Ice Sculptors, said: ‘The Glacial Art team are huge ‘Game of Thrones’ fans and we were delighted to be approached by HBO to commission this Iced Throne. It was one of the biggest honours and most difficult challenges of our professional careers, but for the greatest show on earth we wanted to create nothing short of our most impressive ice sculpture to date.’
Hurry, you’ve only got until the end of the day to take the perfect ‘GoT’ selfie! The chair will have melted away into a pool of dreams by tomorrow.*
