Plug pulled on Piccadilly Circus-style billboards in Brixton

Brixton residents are rejoicing at the news that planning permission to erect huge Piccadilly Circus style LED ad boards has been refused, after hundreds of complaints were lodged to Lambeth Council.

Zeo Holdings, who submitted the proposal for ten giant advertising panels to be built on Brixton Road, claim they are ‘long-term investors in Brixton town centre’ and are also constructing a hefty 188-room Premier Inn hotel on Coldharbour Lane.

Those opposed to the giant illuminated boards said they would not fit with the character of Brixton and would have absolutely no benefit for the community. True, dat.

Brixton’s arches are still under threat though. Sign the petition at change.org.
