Yep, the folks behind London’s best pop-up cinema experience are back this summer with what promises to be their biggest bash yet: a series of interactive screenings of the first (and best-loved) ‘Star Wars’ sequel, ‘The Empire Strikes Back’. The location is still under wraps (they have to keep something secret, after all), but expect a production on an even more epic scale than last year’s ‘Back to the Future’ event, for which they built an entire US town square. We’re predicting some sort of Cloud City setup: expect gleaming white corridors, industrial steam-pipes and, at the very least, a full-size Millennium Falcon.

At £75 a ticket, the event isn’t cheap, and the thought of local RADA graduates re-enacting beloved scenes from the trilogy does curdle our blood somewhat. Nonetheless, this promises to be the event of a lifetime for Star Wars fans. Secret Cinema never do things by halves, and with the new movie, ‘The Force Awakens’, due out in December, it’s a perfect opportunity to indulge your inner space-nerd. Here’s a look at their Back to the Future event last year:

Tickets for the event go on sale at www.secretcinema.org/tickets next Wed, Mar 18 at 1pm. And if you can’t wait to get stuck in to some ‘Star Wars’ geekery, check out our list of the 50 Best Star Wars Characters and vote for your own favourites right here
