As you’ve all heard by now, the future of Soho is looking bleak. Over the past few months the area’s lost Madame Jojo’s, the 12 Bar Club and Tin Pan Alley. Many more independent shops, bars and restaurants are also at risk.
Now Friends of the Joiners Arms, the campaign group hoping to save iconic Shoreditch gay bar the Joiners Arms, is calling for Londoners to join a march in solidarity with Soho. The ‘peaceful, unified and family friendly’ march will kick off at 2pm in Parliament Square on Saturday (March 22).
The group say they’ll be marching under a banner of ‘Uniting through Diversity’. They hope the protest will have an air of Soho-style glitz and glamour – so wear something sparkly.
